The Board of the American Goat Federation has been working hard to get the organization structured and ready for our first meeting in Nashville on Jan 23rd. We are truly excited about the organization as finally there is a national goat organization that speaks for all goat producers across the nation.

We will now have a unified voice in Washington DC. We can finally have united requests and input into research and education regarding goats and we can come together as an industry to market all aspects of the goat industry.

The meeting is set for Saturday, January 23rd at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown located on 623 Union Street, Nashville, Tennessee 37219, 615-259-2000. We welcome everyone and look forward to expanding our efforts to include numerous folks who would like to serve on Committes and Task Forces to assist us in our efforts to complete the structure of the organization.

Hopefully, many or all of you will be able to attend and assist us in our efforts to move forward. We are now entering the marketing and funding stages which require an expanded team to complete. This is truly an exciting time in the goat industry and we see a marvelous future ahead. The best way for us to control that future is to create it and that is precisely what we intend to continue doing in Nashville which will then set the stage for the nationwide roll out of The American Goat Federation. This has long been the vision of many producers including the late Marvin Shurley and finally the time has arrived for the organization to come to fruition.
