Results Of The 2001 OnLine Meat Goat Show

The 2001 OnLine Meat Goat Show season ended Sunday, December 16th, 2001, with the announcement of the Overall Grand and Reserve Champions.
The free OnLine Show features photographs of meat goats with placings & comments by judges. It been conducted as a regular weekly feature of www.boergoats.com since December of 2000.
The 2001 installment of the internet photo show featured more than 250 meat goats. Most of those entries were from breeders who never before had the opportunity to enter a goat show. The OnLine Show was just what they needed to get their feet wet. They learned a little about judging and goat conformation and were able to expose their goats and their farm to the public.
Most visitors in the "audience" had never attended a goat show before. The visitors were treated to goat photographs showing all levels of quality in both percentage and full blood Boer stock. The judges described the goats and gave reasons for placings. This further enriched the experience for both the entrants and the visitors.
The weekly winners of their respective "classes" automatically qualified to compete in the finals. Placing rosettes were awarded to all 2001 Finals qualifiers and trophies were won by the Champion and Reserve Champion in each division. Overall Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions each received additional trophies.
In addition to enjoying the photos and the competition all visitors to the OnLine Show pages were given the opportunity to judge and place the goats. This "viewers' choice" was for fun during the regular season but became very important during the finals - the "viewers' choice" was applied to break ties between the judges in all of the divisions.
The 2002 edition of the OnLine Meat Goat Show will begin immediately following the year end holidays. Everyone with an internet connection is invited to participate in the show.
