TGPA's first "Herd Builder" sale, held in August, 2005, at the City of Lewisburg, TN's Livestock barn, was a success. We learned a lot, and are now ready to host a second TGPA-sponsored Production Sale! This sale will be held on March, 25 2006 (Saturday) at the Wilson County Fairground (Lebanon, TN). Auctioneer for this sale will be Tennessee's own Pit Kemmer of Kemmer Auctioneering (Lic. #1431), Crossville, TN. Viewing of the consigned goats will start at 9:00 A.M.
In addition to the sale, a Myotonic (Fainting) goat show will be held prior to the sale. This show is sponsored by Myotonic Goat Registry, and will start at 9A.M. The sale will start as soon as the show has ended, which should be around 12 Noon. For more information on the Myotonic Goat Show, contact the Myotonic Goat Registry at myotonic@myotonicgoatregistry.com (Phone 931-364-7206) or visit their website at http://www.myotonicgoatregistry.com/MGRfiles/MGRBreedersDownloads.html
All meat-type animals will meet the conformation standards of the American Meat Goat Association (AMGA), dairy animals will meet the breed standards of the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA), and sellers will guarantee the soundness and health status of their consignments. Animals will be inspected by a licensed veterinarian for visible signs of caseous lymphanditis (CL) and other infectious or contagious diseases and check for required health certificates.
While there may be other auctions in the mid-south that same weekend, there are several reasons why this sale may be the most beneficial to YOUR goat operation:
. The goats in this sale will have been raised in the Mid-South and will be acclimated and ready to go to work for YOU the day you purchase them
. The animals will be guaranteed healthy, and the sale will be held on "clean" ground.
. While there may be show-quality goats offered, there will also be many sound and healthy goats suitable to work in a commercial operation
. Because this is an auction, You will set the price!
