I don't usually hang my star on anyone else's "pet project" or bandwagon but I received the following from Jennifer Hawthorn concerning a friend of mine.
Many of you know Peggy Taylor. She is a member and serves on the Board for the 4SBGA, member and Director for ABGA, member and judge for AMGA, and these are just the ones that I am aware of. !hat a tremendous impact she has had on the Boer Goat Industry! Peggy's husband, John, recently had heart surgery and had to have stints put in. The Taylor's have no medical insurance. You can imagine how astronomical their medical bills are.
The Four States Boer Goat Association has shows scheduled for April 21 & 22, 2007, at the Four States Fairgrounds, Texarkana, in the outdoor barn. The 4SBGA Board recently voted to make the Saturday open show very special this year. We will be donating all of our open show entry fees for the Saturday show to the Taylor family.
Jackie Edwards has volunteered to donate her judging fees for the Saturday show to the Taylors to kick off the drive. I believe we will see several items coming in to be auctioned off - the proceeds will go to benefit the Taylors.
This is our chance to help someone that has helped others in many ways. Please make plans to attend and bring your checkbook! Watch www.4SBGA.com to see some of the auction items. They will be coming soon! Also, spread the word, we will be accepting "ghost entries" for the Saturday show. If you are unable to attend the show and would like to help, download an entry form from www.4SBGA.com, fill out an entry form for the Saturday open show only, under name, put "ghost entry", no other details will be required. Mail entry form and check, with Taylor in memo line on check to address below. Make checks payable to 4SBGA.
